We kicked off our Mom-themed week with Beautycounter CEO Gregg Renfrew and her young daughters Phebe and Georgie, and yesterday featured the incredibly sweet interview between Blair Lawson (Beautycounter’s Head of Merchandising and Product Development and resident comedic relief) and her mom Anna.
Here at Beautycounter, we count ourselves lucky to be surrounded by some of the most talented, inspirational, and well-rounded mothers out there. So, we decided to tap our Beautycounter pool of superwomen and asked five mother-and-daughter teams to interview each other. The answers made us laugh and cry.

Former teacher Jenn Indra left the classroom for Direct Retail because she wanted to be at home for her son Cruz, now 6, when he got home from school. While she catapulted up the ranks selling jewelry, she joined “Beautycounter, because I wanted my work to make a difference in the world for my son and generations to come.”
Here at Beautycounter, we’re always inspired by women who do big things (and still manage to keep it together in the process). To that end, we asked jewelry designer and entrepreneur, Ariel Gordon—who churns out delicate baubles and runs her business, lean—to walk us through a typical day.
With a Physician husband who was spending more and more weekends and evenings in the operating room, Tennessee-based Paige Cleveland decided that it was time to take control of her family’s time. So, in an effort to help bring in extra income and afford her husband more time with their two daughters, she joined Beautycounter.
Seven or so years ago, Heather Taylor and her husband, Alex De Cordoba, launched Taylor De Cordoba, one of the hottest contemporary art galleries in Los Angeles. And then they decided to take a break, and now spend their days consulting and developing emerging artists instead. But, this tenure from the gallery hasn’t made Heather any less busy: Her editorial site LA in Bloom is booming, and she just launched her earthy-chic, Mexican-influenced home goods linen line Heather Taylor Home in 2013, which has been spotted on las tablas of super-cool tastemakers and publications alike. We asked the writer/art consultant/lifestyle expert/linen queen to take us through an average day to show us how she balances it all.
Some of the most compelling stories about Beautycounter come from our Consultants who spend their days trying to get safer products into the hands of everyone. Many of these Consultants got started with us because they believe in our mission, like Laura Stenovec. Others started because of the extra income. And then there are people like Michelle Lilly, whose family suffered a devastating loss, which created a seismic shift in living a healthier life.
Here at Beautycounter, we want it to be as easy as possible for you to shop our collections (we are trying to get safer products into the hands of everyone, after all). Either go straight to beautycounter.com when you feel inclined to shop from your couch in your pajamas (no judgement here) or, reach out to one of our expert Consultants if you’d like to try the products and make a new friend who can guide you through the whole process (call us at 1-888-988-9108 to find one close to you).
