Throughout the months of May and June we collaborated with Stand Up To Cancer to bring awareness to the disease, the value of research, and the people it impacts.
SU2C brings together the best and the brightest researchers and mandates collaboration among the cancer community. Since inception, SU2C has funded more than 1,500 researchers over 180 institutions and have planned, launched or completed more than 180 clinical trials.
We decided to collaborate with SU2C again because our missions go hand in hand. While SU2C is providing research and prevention, we are helping to get safer products into the hands of everyone to protect against the exposure to ingredients with links to cancer. We deliver on our mission in three important ways: through our safer products, education and by advocating for more health protective laws. This campaign is an example of our mission in action.
Throughout the month of June our Consultants hosted special “Socials On A Mission” that focused on skin cancer prevention education and raised funds for SU2C. In addition, Beautycounter donated a portion of proceeds from our new Countersun launch in May. Together, the Beautycounter community donated over $86,000 to SU2C.

Meet Jamie – A @Beautycounter Independent Consultant. “I never thought it could happen to me. One morning I felt a lump in my breast, but thought it couldn’t be anything concerning. Soon after, I ran into a close friend who told me she had just been given the news that she had breast cancer….I called that day to make an appointment and had an ultrasound and biopsy two days later. I was diagnosed with triple-negative stage one breast cancer. I had no family history or genetic markers. I was in shock. Four rounds of chemo, a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery, changes your day to day perspective. It forces you to take a deeper look at yourself and ask, does what I do matter? This experience gave me the opportunity to show my two daughters (7 and 8 1/2) the value of inner beauty versus the world’s obsession with outer beauty. I wanted them to see me have confidence as a bald woman, even though some days that was difficult, and to understand that our hearts are more important than our hair. I wanted to teach them how to deal with the difficulties of life and show them not only how to survive, but to thrive in those moments of despair. I couldn’t be more proud to work with a company like Beautycounter and am grateful for the ongoing support SU2C provides in preventing and treating cancer.” Support Jamie in her goal to raise more funds for Stand Up To Cancer.
